Presenter - Dr Jane Herd has 35 years’ experience in Children’s Social Work and Mental Health she specialises in supporting practitioners, carers and organisations in meeting the needs of traumatised children and young people.
Suitable for - anyone working with Traumatised Children and Young People- Foster Carers, Social Workers, Managers, IRO’s, Educators, Youth Justice, Health Practitioners, Therapists, Psychologists.
Learning Objectives
- To provide a basic overview of the impact of early trauma on children’s and young people’s development
- To look at common behaviours and presentations of traumatised children and how these might be understood as communication from the child
- To consider how such communications are best responded to using emotional and relational interactions
- To feel more confident in working with traumatised children and the feelings they evoke.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
