I have had a varied career across social care practice, management and higher education. I am a registered Socail Worker with the majority of my practice career supporting those affected by their own and others substance use. For the last six years I have been an active trustee, and now chair, of Women@the Well, a service supporting women involved, or at risk of involvement in prostitution.
My doctoral research brought together practice experience and research interests to understand the experiences of women experiencing multiple and complex needs, specifically women involved in higher prostitution and/or who have been trafficked, when seeking help and support. I hold a Higher Education Academy fellowship, and am experienced in curriculum development, teaching and assessment.
Throughout my career I have held a number of leadership roles, and have extensive experience managing a varied portfolio of projects through to completion. I have been a head of department of Social Care, delivering social work and social care training at undergraduate and post-graduate level, this involved a challenging portfolio, requiring stakeholder engagaement with a wide and varied audience.
I bring to Orb8 this varied portfolio of experience across social care practice, education and research, with specific remit to lead on their research and evaluation work.
