LADO process

If you have a concern about a professional/volunteer or person working with a child or young person, you can contact the LADO (local Authority Designated Officer). In Suffolk they are available on 0300 123 2004.

MASH consultation line

The Local Authority and partners have established a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Suffolk which brings together a team of multi-disciplinary professionals from partner agencies to deal with all safeguarding concerns, where someone is concerned about the safety or well-being of a vulnerable child or an adult at risk of abuse.

Making a referral to social care

For urgent child protection referrals where the child is at immediate risk then call the Family Operations Hub Priority Referral line on: 0345 603 7627 Out of Hours 0345 606 1212

Non-urgent child protection referrals:

For non-urgent child protection referrals, you should email the Family Operations Hub at FOH@essex.gcsx.gov.uk with a completed Family Operations Request for Support form (the document will have to be password protected if not sent via a GCSX email address)

Making a referral to adult social care

To report an adult safeguarding concern, call 0345 603 7634, or if out of hours, call 0345 606 1212.

Professionals working with adults - If you have concerns that an adult may have suffered abuse, complete a SET SAF1 Form or call Social Care Direct on 0345 603 7630.
