Virtual Delivery via Zoom
We have developed new services and adjusted current provision so it can all be delivered virtually.
Providing national and international service development through consultation, speaking and writing, driving the development of services, systems, teams and individuals to address complex challenges of working within public, social and private sector provision.
Our service provision is embedded in our knowledge of relational, and social sciences and our extensive experience of theory to practice interventions. Using a consultation based approach we work collaboratively with organisations, teams and individuals to develop new understanding, ways of working, systems and use of language. We translate the insight of consultation through training, coaching, education and reflective practice to bring about real change.
Orb8 works Internationally with organisations with national reach and influence using our expertise in the social and community roots of provision to challenge existing paradigms and create new and transformational approaches.
Dr Jane Herd, Orb8 Founder and CEO is a leading speaker and writer, from small providers and large organisations to national and international platforms; working from the ground up with practitioners and from the top down with senior leaders to challenge existing ways of responding to the needs of vulnerable groups, and to translate this in how we relate, work and deliver real service for ourselves, others and our communities.
Orb8 is driven by a belief in social justice. Through the intelligent use of social and psychological theory and the exploration of our own experience and beliefs we aim to create internal and relational change that will translate into long term, embedded, transformation in the way we work and live together.

I have been thinking recently about the strain that the Covid Pandemic is placing on us all. I have noticed through personal reflection and discussion with others that our response to Covid has flowed like a wave over the course of the year.
I have been thinking about professional networks and the importance of relationships. In my regular therapeutic support sessions with fosters carers I have noticed what seems to be a theme of frustration in the interface with children’s social workers and I suspect this goes both ways.
I have just returned from just over 3 weeks leave and by this, I mean a proper absence, no looking at work emails or answering work calls. I have not done this for at least 4 years and it was such an anomaly I chose to call it a retreat.
